Auditions

 

Auditions for the Stillwater Players Among Others late spring production of John Patrick's "Anybody Out There" will be held at the St. Peter's Parish Center in Stillwater (Rt. 4 & 32) on Tuesday 2/23 and Wednesday 2/24 at 7PM.

 

Synopsis:

 

Poor Oliver Pankey is a born loser. His landlady charges him when someone else breaks his window. His fiancée leaves him for a married man. His boss at the bank cuts his pay when he asks for a raise. And a thief takes everything he has - including his only suit. As the last straw, when he visits a doctor to check on the results of a blood test the files get switched and he is told that he'll be dead within six months. Fed up, and reconciled to his fate, Oliver turns into a raging lion, performing feats of dazzling bravery and ending up as the new branch manager of the bank. He even agrees to help the FBI by becoming a sitting duck for a gangland shoot-out - only to learn, at the eleventh hour, of the doctor's horrendous error. Needless to say our stalwart hero's knees turn suddenly to jelly, but the action spins zanily on, deftly finding its way to a happy - and hilarious - conclusion.

Oliver Pankey……... Young adult male. A bank clerk, a chicken, obsessive compulsive, a hypochondriac, a born loser who has everything go wrong in his life until he’s told he has 6 months to live forcing him to take control of his life or what’s left of it.

 

Sophie Goggan….…. Older adult female. A stark humorless landlady who’s a control freak, and protective or her possessions.

 

Millie Milhous………. Attractive naive young female bank clerk.

 

Thief………………………The holdup man, any age.

 

Herbie Henderson….Middle ages adult male, bank manager, who enjoys the power of his position.

 

Officer……………………Any age adult male traffic cop.

 

Anita Wrenn…………..Adult female of any age. Doctor’s receptionist

 

Doctor Dickey…………Any age adult male physician.
